The club had hope to have Fabian's red card at Cardiff rescindered on the grounds that he was not stopping a goalscoring oppurtunity, as the club felt the ball which Jerome was chasing was within Price's grasp when the incident occurred. The Ipswich full-back vehemently denied that sufficient contact was made to make the striker fall though.

Wilnis will now have to serve a one match suspension that forces him to sit out the Wolves clash at Portman Road on Saturday. It is a big blow to Royle's squad that is already down on defensive players after the news that Jay McEveley is forced out for the season with medial ligament damage, sustained in the build-up to the penalty at Cardiff. Sam Parkin is also a long-term casualty with a broken ankle.

Richard Naylor had been used as a make-shift striker in the absence of Parkin, however, the lack of experienced defenders at Royle's disposal means that he is likely to have to revert back to his defensive duties at Portman Road this weekend.
