Connor Wickham proving himself in the U'19's!

Connor Wickham netted against Albania in an impressive victory for the England U'19's this afternoon on his debut in their European Championship Qualifying group in Belgium.

The 17 year old added England's third before half time, and could of had a few more goals on earlier occasions but failed to take them as well as his third. Wickham was replaced with just 20 minutes to go but got some valuable game time under his belt which will help him after the 6 weeks absentee injured his ankle before the season even began.

If anything the substitution was a precaution as the U'19's have another two matches this coming Sunday and Wednesday against Cyprus and the hosts respectively and wouldn't want to risk injury to the Ipswich frontman.

Elsewhere duo Josh Carson and Caolan Lavery were both included in the Northern Ireland U'19 starting eleven against Switzerland in their European Championship Qualifying match, Carson played the full 90 minutes whilst Lavery was subbed on 59 minutes. Whilst town defender Rory McKeown was only seen on the bench.

The NI (Northern Ireland) youngsters have another two upcoming games against Germany and Andorra both being played on Sunday and Wednesday.
