Notman, a 23 year old forward had his career cut short by a serious ankle injury, and as a tribute to the former Manchester United youth product, the two clubs have agreed to play a benefit match.

It's likely that past Ipswich and Norwich players will make up both sides for the game which is to be held on Friday October 8th at Carrow Road, and there is even suggestions that former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne may line up for Town's side on the night.

Andy Marshall, Andy Goram, John Wark, Kevin Beattie, Mick Mills, Trevor Putney and Trevor Whymark are just some of the names that are likely to be involved in Town's side, of which Joe Royle is likely to be manager.

Meanwhile Norwich hope to call on the services of such players as Bryan Gunn, Darren Eadie, Iwan Roberts, Ruel Fox, Keith O'Neil and Robert Fleck and it's hoped Nigel Worthington will be manager for the home team.

All in all it promises to be an exciting encounter in which Town and Canaries fans alike will be able to see heroes from the past play against each other in aid of a player who's career was tragically cut so short by injury.
