Speaking to the Ipswich Evening Star, the 33 year old said: "I was looking forward to the season. And I'm disappointed not to have figured, to say the least. I am surprised that I haven't been on the bench either and I can't say I know the reason why.
"I feel I can still do a job in the Premiership but the situation is pretty simple really. If in the next few months I don't get a look in, then in fairness to me I think the gaffer's got to let me go out on loan.
"I've got a lot of respect for Joe Royle. I'd consider going there. If you're not featuring - and I'm blatantly not - you have to look at all of your options."
