After a slow start to the season from the strong forward, Kuqi got himself off the mark for the season by scoring two goals against Rotherham away from home just over a week ago and also impressed many with his display against Wolves at Portman Road last Monday.

Earlier in the season along with fellow striker Pablo Counago, Kuqi was told he could leave the club on a free transfer. Interest from Daewoo Royals from South Korea and German side Hansa Rostock followed, but Town's number 32 elected to stay at Portman Road.

Speaking to the Ipswich Evening Star the former Sheffield Wednesday frontrunner said: "I know I did not play very well towards the end of last season, but I must still have been doing something right as a couple of clubs showed interest in signing me during the summer."

"But I want to stay with Ipswich. I want to give back something to the club and its supporters. I feel I have got a lot to give the club still. Ipswich is a great football club to play for and it would need something special for me to move on."
