Sheepy : We Can Now Add to Squad

Speaking to the official club website, of the deal that took Marcus to the Foxes, Sheepshanks said : "We would have preferred a permanent deal but Marcus is another player at the Club who was on high Premiership wages."

Yesterday we revealed that Town offered Marcus Bent on a free transfer to the Foxes, a move which they turned down due to their own financial constraints, and opted for the loan option instead, which has angred many fans since the news broke yesterday morning.

"He is a talented player who wanted the opportunity to play in the Premiership and with the money we will save, even over the nine month period of the loan, we have now created the platform to bring in players ourselves on loan so the deal made sound sense." continued Sheepshanks

"I can absolutely confirm that money will now be made available to Joe Royle to add to the squad, that was the reason we agreed to the deal.

"We worked hard on the deal over the weekend and the previous days and with the move now concluded, we are now in a position to give Joe some flexibility in his thinking for the future."

Worked so hard that you came close to giving away a player on a free transfer that is worth a couple of million? Also wasn't Gaardsoe sold so if Royle needed to add to his squad he could, but he is now saying that about Bent?

Is this yet more spin from Sheepshanks?
