"It was a very strange game and I really don't know how we lost it," said Royle after the 4-2 defeat at Portman Road.
"One or two of our players switched off in the last half an hour, we started giving the ball away and at times we defended like children.
"Only Fabian Wilnis defended superbly for 90 minutes. Our goalkeeper didn't have a save to make in 90 minutes and yet he still ended up conceding four goals. It's amazing and very frustrating.
"Credit to Wolves for taking their chances but I think even they'll wonder how they came away having scored four goals."
