The Ipswich boss also defended new signing Mark Fish who could have done better for both Rangers goals.

"We weren't even there in the first half. We knew they were big and physical but they blew us away," he said after the 2-1 defeat.

"There was a foul leading up to their second goal and I was under-whelmed by the refereeing but I can't argue with their two-goal lead at half time.

"Our problem is we didn't have enough defenders.

"Mark Fish volunteered to play and I can't thank him enough for it, but he's clearly not match fit.

"Loftus Road is not an easy place to come. This is not a criticism of them, but they are very physical and they bullied us for the first half."
