The former Manchester City boss told the Official Club Website: “It was the best atmosphere at the ground this season and the fans were magnificent.

“They gave the players terrific backing and even though we lost out to a last minute goal, they still gave the lads a standing ovation. Hopefully we can repay that faith over the remaining six games of the season. That’s our target.”
