Reuser to Miss Wigan Clash

With Town manager Joe Royle insisting changes will be made after his teams slow and poor start to the season, the news of Reuser being out could limit his chances to change things as much as he likes.

Matt Richards looks set to be recalled to the squad after picking up an injury in training forcing him out of the home game against Coventry on Saturday, apart from Richards replacing Reuser, the squad of 16 will be the same as that which faced the Sky Blues.

Looking forward to tonights game, Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle yesterday said : "Paul Jewell did tremendously well to take Wigan up as champions last season and have had a good start to this season points-wise. But we have had a full report on them from the game against Burnley and they were a little fortunate to take all three points.

Burnley had efforts hit the woodwork and had one cleared off the line – that sounds familiar, doesn't it? But we have to make sure we put those chances away.

"We have the same 16, except Matt Richards is in for Martijn Reuser, and we will be making changes. I have a lot of options and will be using players who have had lots of rest of late.

"We need to freshen up a little and this could be the ideal opportunity. We have a long way to go and a lot of games to play and I know we will get things right."

The match was originally due to take place on bank holiday Monday, but due to the clash with the Wigan Warriors playing Bradford Bulls on the same night, the clash was put back to today, a move which could leave a pitch of not the highest quality by any strech of the imagination.
