Pablo Back in Spain

According to reports in the local press, whilst the other out of contract players, Tommy Miller, Jim Magilton, Drissa Diallo, Shefki Kuqi and Fabian Wilnis are holding talks over their future with boss Joe Royle, Counago has returned to his native Spain suggesting a new deal may not be on the table.

The former Spanish Under 21 striker last week said he would be willing take a pay cut to remain at Portman Road when his £12,000 per week contract expires in June 2005. Over the next few days it's likely to become clearer where his future may lie.

Counago could be one of three Town strikers to be leaving the club this Summer, with Darren Bent yesterday handing in a transfer request and Shefki Kuqi the subject of interest from several Premiership Clubs.
