Mahon has recentley started light training with Town's Physio and coaching team, and according to Joe Royle, is very much targeting the game against the Blades for his return: "Alan is around seven to 10 days away from full training." he told the Official Club Website.
"He has been running well with the physios and is making progress all the time. He has had another scan on his hamstring and there doesn't seem to be a problem there so we are looking at the Sheffield United game as a return for him."
