Mahon Suffers Setback

The former Republic of Ireland international who is currentley on loan from Premiership strugglers Blackburn Rovers picked up a hamstring injury against Stoke City last month, and the ilnessis likely to rule him out of training until around Thursday.

Speaking of the setback to the official club website, reserve team boss Steve McCall said: "Alan has been making good progress and would have been in line to play against Portsmouth but he has been ill for the last couple of days.

"He did not train today so it's not in his best interests to play. We are not even sure he will be ready for training on Tuesday or even Wednesday so he certainly won't be involved against Portsmouth."
