Mahon Out For at Least Five Weeks

Mahon was substitued after just 12 minutes of the first half after appearing to injure himself while sending in one of his crosses that have been such a great feature of Town's play of late, and the on loan star could be set to be ruled out for the complete remaining length of his loan spell with the club.

Speaking of the incident, Town Boss Joe Royle, confirmed the bad news of the Irishmans injury: "He will be out for five or six weeks so we will have to do without him for a while."

Jim Magilton was also substitued at half time due to injury, and without Magilton and Mahon in midfield for Town, the central department of the team looked a lot less fluent, although Tommy Miller did come on and offer an attacking midfield role, however Miller looked obviously short of match fitness.
