Speaking of Saturday's defeat against Wigan, the former Northern Ireland midfielder said: "I'd be lying if I said a result like that doesn't affect confidence. Of course it does but Wigan is gone now and it's Bradford that counts and we have got to stand up and be counted.

"The supporters will be looking for a reaction to last week and rightly so. We are under pressure to produce the goods. Now it's up to individuals to show they have the mental strength to cope with the pressure.

Unlike Manager Joe Royle, Magilton feels that the fans have a right to show what they feel: "Our fans showed their disappointment last week and I don't blame them. I was on the receiving end of some of the stick but the defeat hurt me as much as it did anyone else.

"The supporters pay good money to watch us play and are entitled to their opinions but if they are going to voice their disapproval over things, then it's better that it comes my way than be aimed at the kids in the team.

"I've been in this game a long time and I won't let stick intimidate me. It won't stop me getting on the ball and trying to get the team to play and I certainly won't start looking for rabbit holes to hide down."
