Magilton, who is entering his second season as club captain, looks almost certain to miss Saturday's game against Gillingham, and De Vos is likely to take the armband in his absense, a choice which has been given full backing from Town's number seven.

"Jason has skippered teams wherever he has played and the position would sit very easily on his shoulders here." Magilton told the Official Club Website

"He' settled in here very well, is a good professional, a good talker and a good organiser and we need that sort of player here, especially as we have lost John McGreal and Matt Elliott has gone back to Leicester. I certainly see him as a future skipper of Ipswich Town."
