The former Southampton midfielder picked up a foot injury in the first half of the game against Cardiff at Ninian Park at the weekend and was replaced by Town's number eight Tommy Miller after 25 minutes.

Until yesterday afternoon Magilton seemed to have no chance of making the game at The City Ground, however following a dramatic recovery, yesterday afternoon Magilton was added to the existing squad of 16, and will face a fitness test before the game to determine if he will play or not, something which the Northern Irishman is confident of passing.

Speaking to the Official Club Website, Magilton said: "I will see how the foot is when we are up at Nottingham but I'm confident that I will be okay. Our physio Dave Williams has done a fantastic job in getting the swelling down over the last day or so when it didn't look like I had much chance of making it.

"I had problems walking after the game on Saturday and the foot was grotesque the following day but there is no ligament damage so there was always a chance I could play, although that looked a very slim one on Monday.

"I won't play though if I am not sure it will be fine. We have got quality players waiting for their chance on the bench so it's not as though we are short."
