Republic of Ireland international, Alan Lee will undergo a last minute fitness test at Portman Road, ahead of the clash with relegation threatened Millwall.

The burly striker suffered a slight tear in his hamstring at Gresty Road back on the 14th of February and it was revealed in the wake of the postponed match at Preston last weekend that Alan would not of made it.

However, a week on and Alan has got through several training sessions with no reaction to the tear and he is confident of taking to the field on Saturday. He told the EADT: “Training felt fine. I have been sprinting and working all week and nothing has stopped me. I felt a bit rusty but that is to be expected but it feel good and I'm confident I will be available to play on Saturday.”

Boss Joe Royle is verging more on the side of caution though and told the EADT: “With hamstrings it is not so much how it feels in training but the reaction. We will know more later but probably wait until Saturday before fully deciding.”

Royle has named a 16 man squad ahead of Millwall's visit and will look to partner Lee with exciting prospect Danny Haynes, should the irishman be declared fit.

The back four should pick itself from recent weeks, with no injurie worries ahead of the match. Barron will continue at left-back, with Wilnis on the right, Captain De Vos in the centre, alongside Richard Naylor, who will make his 200th start for Town.

The midfield holds plenty of options for Royle but the quintet of Richards, Garvan, Westlake and Currie are likely to continue where they left off after the 2-0 home win over Leicester, 2 weeks ago.

Although opponents Millwall are placed precariously in the Championship table in 22nd position, 2 points off safety, Royle has warned that they will still pose a threat to Town: “This is a tough game against Millwall, who are fighting for their lives. They still have a great chance of getting out of the bottom three. They do produce their own kids to come through, and I don't know whether it is their attitude of everyone is against us and being in adversity, but Millwall do a lot right there.

“If we carry on playing as we have and we get the goals we can, then we can make it easy for ourselves but they won't make it easy for us.

“We have momentum. Even earlier in the season when we lost against Crystal Palace and Hull City I could see improvement and we have been making good progress since," he said, speaking to the EADT.

David Tuttle is the man in charge of the Lions and they come into the match on the back of a win against Luton, which ended a run of 10 games without a victory.

Colin Cameron, the Scotland international will make his second start for the Lions since his loan move from Wolves, whilst Andy Marshall the former Nowrich and Ipswich goalkeeper returns to familiar territory.

Tuttle is likely to continue the partnership of teenager Marvin Williams and Carl Asaba up front but Barry Hayles, returning after a three month injury lay-off should feature at some point but is more likely to start from the bench, with their last 8 games in mind.

Popular Millwall centre back, Matt Lawerence thinks that their home form will be the key to their survival chances and said that the Lions would be delighted to come away from Portman Road with a point: "Anything we pick up away from home is a bonus, so a point a Ipswich would be really good," he said.
