Keano Looking to Add Midfielders

Speaking to the EADT, Keane said in relation to bringing in new faces: "We are no closer but we still have a week or two to play with. Midfield is an area of the team I'm looking at but I would not expect any news within the next 24 hours.

"I will be sitting with my staff today and no doubt we will have a chat. It is natural to throw a few names around but we will play it by ear. I'm looking at loan options or maybe bringing in a player but we won't be spending millions.

"There is one or two I have in mind. There are players out there I admire, Gerrard and Lampard, but we are not in apposition to get them just now."

With Jaime Peters picking up a knock at the weekend, and David Norris and Luciano Civelli unlikely to return to the new year, Alan Quinn looks likely to return to the first team fold for Tuesday's clash against Crystal Palace at Portman Road.
