Ipswich v Reading

Last updated : 07 March 2011 By BBC Sport

Ipswich midfielder Colin Healy is still sidelined, while left-back Mark Kennedy is ruled out after injuring his hamstring in Saturday's win at Cardiff.Kennedy will be replaced by Celtic loanee Darren O'Dea, who played the last hour against the Bluebirds. Reading could again be without winger Jobi McAnuff, who missed out last weekend because of a hamstring problem.

His replacement, Hal Robson-Kanu, will hope to keep his place after scoring in the 5-2 win against Middlesbrough.

MATCH PREVIEW

Jimmy Bullard's two goals at Cardiff earned Paul Jewell his fifth win in 10 league games since taking charge of Ipswich. But while Town's improved form has encouraged supporters, they are 12 points adrift of the play-off places, meaning Jewell must instead focus on rebuilding for next season.

It remains to be seen whether Bullard is part of Jewell's plans, but the Hull loanee appears keen to make the move permanent. The midfielder would have to take a significant drop in wages at Portman Road, but said after his starring role at Cardiff: "Finance is not the only thing with me - as soon as I walked in, I knew that this was a fantastic club."

Bullard's two goals against the Bluebirds both came from long range, but Reading also have players capable of scoring from distance. Veteran left-back Ian Harte netted twice against Middlesbrough on Saturday, both goals coming from curling free-kicks.

While Ipswich have one eye on the future, Reading's season is still very much alive. The Royals still harbour realistic play-off ambitions, and can also look forward to Sunday's FA Cup tie at Manchester City. However, Brian McDermott's side have drawn too many games this term, something they will have to put right if they are to snatch a top-six spot.
