Midfielder Bloomfield has been capped at England Under 19 level, and has made just one substitute apperance for Town, whilst 18 year old Chris Hogg has yet to start for the first team and has recentley spent time on loan at Third Division side Boston United and has also represented England at Under 19 level.

Speaking of releasing the duo, Town manager Joe Royle said: "I believe both lads have a future in the game but they have been overtaken here at Ipswich by other very promising youngsters who have now jumped ahead of them in the queue.

"We have made this decision to offer them free transfers now rather than at the end of the season to give them a better chance of getting fixed up with other clubs."

Hogg, joined Ipswich Town's academy from York City for £50,000 and has been Captain of his country on a good number of times for several different age levels. However Joe Royle has today told him that he has no future at Portman Road.

"I know Chris was very well thought of by Boston and their manager Neil Thompson has also been having a close look at Matt, so there's a good chance one or both will be offered something there." Royle concluded.
