Garvan injury worse than first thought

The Ipswich physio reported to the club website: "It's been scanned again and the sprain is grade 2 rather than the grade 1 which we had hoped for.

"There is also a slight chip to the bone but that is only minor and Mark (the specialist) isn't concerned about that at all. With Owen's age, the bone isn't fully mature anyway.

"We're probably looking at Owen being back playing again in two to four weeks the way things stand."

Young midfielder Garvan was originally hoping to make his comeback at the Rioch Arena this Saturday before he saw specialist Mark Bowditch. Ironically, the ankle injury was sustained against Coventry in the 2-2 draw on the 18th October.

Royle was hoping of having the rare pleasure of a fully-fit squad to choose from for the trip to the Midlands. However, the addition of Loanee Gavin Williams and the return to fitness of Ian Westlake should give Joe adequate options in midfield.
