Double Injury Blow for Blues

Price was always going to be a doubt for the game with Sheffield Wednesday having been taken off with an injury against Leicester and replaced by Shane Supple who will continue in goal against Wednesday after Price did not make as quick progress as expected following his injury.

In addition, Sam Parkin is almost certainly out of the game after picking up a kick to the face in training this morning, requiring 20 stiches, and with rules regarding cuts that open meaning the player has to go off, there is a chance he will not be included incase upon heading a ball the cut re-opens.

So it's likely that Dean McDonald and Dean Bowditch will lead the line for Town in the absence of first choice strikers Parkin and Nicky Forster.

Confirming the news to the Official Club Website, Town boss Joe Royle said: "Sam went down low for a header and has taken a kick. He has a cut from his forehead down to his nose and at the moment, he's got to be extremely doubtful.

"We've all played with cuts before but now with the new 'blood rule', it's not possible to be on the pitch with a cut. We are not ruling him out just yet though and will have a look at him in the morning."

Town physio Dave Williams added: "Sam has had 20 stitches and looks to be out of contention to be honest.

"The new rule means that if the cut opens up he would have to go off and in the position it's in, that is what will happen when he heads the ball."
