Clubs Have Made Offers for Bent

Bent recentley requested a transfer through his agent after Town failed to win promotion to the Premiership last campaign, and it looks simply a matter of when, and not if he will leave Portman Road this Summer.

Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Town Chairman David Sheepshanks said: "We are aware of interest from more than one club and we have had offers for Darren, but as yet nothing has been accepted."

The most likely club to have made an offer for Bent appears to be Charlton, with a £3.2M bid and a cash plus player deal involving Francis Jeffers having been rumoued in the past week.

Sunderland were also linked with a move for the product of the Town academy, but look set to turn their attention to Blackburn striker Jon Stead in a deal worth £1.5M.
