Boss Comments on Miller Speculation

The former Hartlepool midfielder scored 15 goals for Town last campaign as they narrowly missed out on automatic promotion and then lost in the play-offs to West Ham in the Semi-Final stage.

With Millers contract up next month, speculation over the last week has linked him with a bosman free move to Sunderland. Only yesterday it was established that the £800.000 signing by former boss George Burley had put his house in the area up for sale, giving further weight to the claims he would be moving on.

Speaking of the reports linking Miller with a move away from Portman Road, Town boss Joe Royle told the Ipswich Evening Star: "I am aware of interest in Tommy from Sunderland and I can't say I am surprised. I suspect he may have another agenda.

"If I was the manager of a club going up to the Premiership and I saw that a 15-goal midfielder was available on a Bosman I would be very interested."

In addition to midfielder Miller, both want away striker Darren Bent and Finnish international striker Shefki Kuqi have been linked with a move to the Black Cats this Summer.
