The former Manchester United midfielder says that he enjoys coming to Portman Road, and wishes that Ipswich Town were still in the Premiership.

"This may not be a massive stadium but it's a special one. I was sad to see Ipswich come out of the Premiership and I hope they can get back this season, I really do." he told the Ipswich Evening Star.

"Every time I went over to take a corner the fans nearby really roused me with their encouragement. It really was a great night and the result was a big boost for us."

Beckham played a leading role in last nights 3-1 victory against the Croatians, by scoring the opening goal from the penalty spot and supplying the cross for Englands second which was headed in by Michael Owen.
