The former Stockport and Middlesborough striker was forced to be withdrawn after just 23 minutes of last nights reserves game against Portsmouth after appearing to suffer with what looked like a back injury, and was replaced by young striker Sam Morrow.
However despite picking up the injury in the game, Town Physio Dave Williams insists Alun should not yet be ruled out of featuring against the Blades: "Alun's back was bruised and stiffened up but it has improved overnight." Town physio Dave Williams told the Official Club Website.
"He is still a doubt for the weekend but his back is loosening up and we will have another look on Thursday to see how he is going. It's too early to say whether he will be clear for the Sheffield game but if his improvement continues, he will have a chance."
