Speaking in the after match press conference, the former Everton manager said: "It is nice to win two in a week - it brightens the place up. It was a strange game in that in patches we were good, but we gave them a sloppy goal back."
"Mahon did well. He has given us a little bit of balance on the left that we have lacked since Jamie Clapham left."

Speaking of his sides defeat, Wimbledon counterpart Stuart Murdoch felt that the clubs move to Milton Keynes would help the club in their fight against relegation: "It will bring fresh impetus to the club, but it won't stop us letting in goals and giving away penalties.

There are some good builders there - I just hope they have got some breeze blocks left to put in front of our goal! We cannot hid behind the fact that we are young - if young players aren't good enough they will learn from their mistakes, but we are not good enough to do that.

"We are at the bottom of the league on merit. I have got my hands tied behind my back and had my legs taken away. We came here last year and won 5-1, but since that day we have lost five players, including two internationals."
