Speaking in the after match press conference, Royle said: "I didn't think the referee had the best of games and the penalty he awarded against Fabian Wilnis for their second goal was the softest I have seen in over 30 years in the game.

"He actually missed our penalty when Pablo was cleared pulled down and had to rely on his assistant to give the decision and then missed two further penalties that should have been awarded when big Georges was fouled in the box, one in the first-half and the other in the second.

"The referee went to reach for his book and then realised the player had already had a yellow card and appeared to change his mind," Royle concluded.

Speaking of his sides win, County boss Bill Dearden was understandably pleased with the peformance: "It is the fans that I am especially pleased for because I know what they have been going through for the past 16 months while we have been in administration.

"It is so nice to be talking about football for a change and I thought it was a really good cup tie. The two penalties were a bit dubious but that is the way it goes. We had three or four chances to kill them off on the break in the second half and I am disappointed we did not do that."
