Ipswich Vs Wigan - The Opposition View

How do you feel Wigan's season is going?
Better than expected. After promotion I think that most fans would have been happy to just stay in the division and then push on. However Jewell is a great manager and he has gathered together a great bunch of players who are 6th place on merit.

How do you feel Ipswich are doing this season?
Pretty similar to ourselves, apart from the fact that I think you would have been expected to challenge for promotion. I think you have some quality players and if it wasn't for the administration mess, you would deserve the promotion.

Who do you think are your most on form and dangerous players at the moment?
At the moment away from home we are unstoppable. At home the team finds it difficult to play on our pathetic pitch, but away from home they can pass the ball around and the 4-2 away win at North End, just shows what our side is capable of.

If I had to single a player out it would be Gary Teale. He didn't make the starting eleven for the first part of the season but Liddell got injured and Teale jumped in. He has never looked back and was the man who ripped Preston to pieces with his electric pace. He's one to watch out for.

Over the past few weeks you have been linked with former Town Loanee Alan Mahon, what do you think of the Irishman?
I haven't really seen him play so I can't comment. He has just signed for us today, but we are unsure of the fee. We have been playing with a centre forward on the wing which although it has been effective, it is not ideal and I'm sure Mahon will do well for us, as do most of Jewell's additions.

Are there any youngsters or unsung talents in the squad we may not have heard of?
Leighton Baines. Young left back with plenty of potential, made his major break through into the side this year after a handful of appearances last year.

How do you think both clubs will fair this season?
I feel we will both finish close if not in the play-offs. Hopefully you will not cost us our play-off place!

What Ipswich players do you feel could cause your side problems?
Pablo Counago or Kuqi scare me personally, but we have an equally good front two in Ellington and Roberts.

What sort of line-up can we expect from you?
Rigid 4-4-2, hard-working, and full of running if perhaps lacking the skill.

Predicted score?
2-2 draw. Ellington x 2 for ourselves.
