Ipswich Town Skipper Magilton said that although his team were not at their best, their team spirit is what won them the game: "One of football's little quirks, a game like that. We showed tremendous team spirit. Give Plymouth their due respect, they played very well and Steve Crawford was excellent.

"I always felt we had goals in us. The gaffer's changes paid dividends and Shefki came on and showed tremendous spirit and turned the game for us. I don't know what the boss said to him but I hope he says it every week."

Meanwhile Canadian International De Vos agreed with Magilton and praised Town's team spirit: "Two down, one player off it was always going to be an uphill struggle for us but we dug in and showed that we have got a bit of steel and resilience in the side.

"Shefki made the difference for us and once we got level we always felt we could go on and win the game. The lads deserved credit for the way they dug in."
