Keeper Lewis Price was understandably very happy with his penalty save: "I Spoke to Andy Rhodes before the game and he said that John had sent a penalty that way in a previous game so just tried my luck and pleased it came off.

"They had few chances and we defended well and deserved to win the game. Confidence high now and looking forward to facing England U21s."

Striker Dean Bowditch was pleased to score the blues opening goal and felt Town were worthy winners: "My goal was a tap in really. It was a great ball in from Benty and I just had to get in on the end of it.

"Conceding the goal knocked us back a bit but although the winner was unfortunate for them, we deserved to win the game."

Meanwhile Skipper Jim Magilton felt his side dominated after the break: "We dominated the play in the second-half and I would have been disappointed with the draw. We were the better side and deserved the points.

"Lewis did fantastic for the save and Deano showed his ability. He has a lot to learn yet but he is going to be a special player. Now looking forward to the break."
