The home side failed to take a number of chances that came their way and the Bantams snatched their first win of the season with a late Michael Proctor strike.

The hosts first chance of the night came in the very first minute when Marcus Stewart failed to capitalize on Jim Magilton's cross, sending his header over the bar.

George Burley's side didn't have to wait long to break the deadlock, Darren Bent heading home at the far post from a Darren Ambrose cross.

The lead only lasted nine minutes before the Bantams drew level. They won a free-kick 25 yards out from goal and Paul Evans stepped up to curl an unstoppable shot beyond Andy Marshall in the home goal.

Just after the half-hour mark, Proctor had a great chance when clean through on goal but Marshall pulled off a great save to deny him.

After the restart, the game developed into an end to end affair with both sides going close before Marshall tipped an Evans thunderbolt on to the bar with 15 minutes remaining.

The visitors got the winning goal with seven minutes remaining, Proctor picked up a pass from Evans, spun away from Thomas Gaardsoe and fired a 25-yard shot past Marshall and into the net.

Despite the home side forcing a number of late corners and a few half chances, they were unable to find a way through a resolute Bantams defence and slipped to their first defeat of the season
