QPR Closing In On Walters ?

Last updated : 17 August 2010 By Nyle Gardiner

QPR could be closing in on a deal to sign Former Ipswich captain Jon Walters, Walters has stated his desire to leave the club after interest from Stoke but Keane has said that Stoke weren't the only club interested with QPR seemingly the other club interested although there has been rumours over a swap deal for Walters from West Brom which could see Luke Moore come this way plus an agreeable fee for the former Chester City man.

Ipswich seem unlikely to sell the Republic of Ireland B International unless an agreeable sum comes in for Walters or a sum near to Ipswich's £4million valuation, Ipswich want to sell Walters ideally before the transfer window closes at the end of this month and as Keane stated in an interview " Walters will never kick a ball for this club again as long as im here". The funds from a possible sale of Walters could fund deals for other targets Keane is looking to bring in with the likes of Jason Scotland and Ross McCormack being linked although the Scotland deal has been put on hold as Wigan are looking for a replacement for the T&T striker with Chelsea's Franco Di Santo rumoured to be their target and Wigan also have injury concerns over Victor Moses who got injured in the opening weekend fixture against Blackpool in which they suffered a shocking 4-0 defeat. Also Ross McCormack is apparently set to join Hull City in a swap deal involving Daniel Cousin who could Join Cardiff as part of the swap, so this deal could also be in doubt!
