Wickham Wins Young Player of the Month Award

The 17-year-old won the award after scoring three goals in four matches during the month.

Wickham is Ipswich's youngest ever player having made his debut at the age of 16 years and 11 days old in the 3-1 defeat by Doncaster in April 2009.

The teenager is currently on England Under-17 duty preparing for the European Championship.

England start their campaign in Liechtenstein against the Czech Republic on Tuesday, 18 May.

England U17 coach John Peacock said: "Connor's a very level-headed young man.

"I think he's at the right club at Ipswich and Roy Keane has done a really good job with him, steadily developing him."

England's other group games are against Greece on Friday, 21 May and Turkey three days later.

The top two from each group will qualify for the semi-finals with the final played on Sunday, 30 May.
