The 20-year-old, who has one senior cap so far, will meet up with his team-mates in Auckland on 19 May.
He will join Rory Fallon and Simon Elliott (both Plymouth) Chris Killen (Middlesbrough) Chris Wood (West Brom) and Ryan Nelsen (Blackburn).
New Zealand, making their second World Cup appearance, are in the same group as Slovakia, Italy and Paraguay.
