Keane Happy With First Game Win

Pablo Counago, David Norris and Jon Stead scored for the Blues in a good performance at Ninian Park, whilst Richard Wright saved a first half penalty whilst the scores were still level.

Speaking in the after match press conference Keane said: "We rode our luck a bit for the first 20 minutes and invited trouble," said the Town boss. "It was a great save from our 'keeper. It wasn't a bad penalty but he gambled well and did fantastic to get down to it. Maybe that was the turning point in the game.

"It wasn't as comfortable as the scoreline suggests. There are difficult games in the Championship every week but I was pleased with the response from the players and to score three goals away from home is very pleasing.

"We did the ugly things well in the game. That pleased me. We had to change things around with the injury to Alex Bruce and the players coped with that.

"We had good travelling support and the fans will go home happy but there is a long way to go yet."
