Yallop made 376 apperances for Town and was part of the 1991/1992 promotion winning side which enabled to blues to take part in the first season of the Premier League alongside Canadian collegue Craig Forrest

After leaving Town, Yallop left for America where he played for Tampa Bay and later became head coach of San Jose Earthquakes where he guided them to the Major Soccer League title.

Not content with winning the MLS once, Yallop did it all over again and was named coach of the year in the season just past where he led San Jose to a second MLS title.

Yallop's undoubted skill as a manager caught the eye of the Canadian Football Association, and Yallop has now been rewarded by being named as coach of the international side.

"I took great pride in playing for my country and to be named head coach of the Canadian men's national team is indeed a great honour." he told the Official Club Website.

"I was involved in World Cup qualifying as a player for the 1994 and 1998 World Cups and I am eager to get started on trying to qualify for 2006."
