Victory for Bowditch's England

Bowditch played just 45 minutes of the match after Town boss Joe Royle requested that this be the case to England Under 19 boss Martin Hunter with Town's number 17 looking likely to be starting on Sunday against Sunderland in the Coca-Cola Championship.

Derby Left midfielder got England's goal on the 24th minute by striking home from just over 30 yards. Phil Ifil was sent off for the young lions as the match entered the closing minutes but they held on to claim a well deserved victory.
