Town youths face tough Anfield test

Brian Klug's side have overcame Leeds in the 3rd round, with a one nil victory courtesy of Billy Clarke.

The young Irishman is one of a number of faces unavailable to Klug tonight, however. Clarke is currently suffering from a dislocated elbow sustained in a reserve match, whilst Danny Haynes and Owen Garvan are required by the First-Team to travel to Southampton tomorrow.

Klug does have other FA Youth Cup winners available though, such as Bury St. Edmunds born Ed Upson, who scored the famous last minute winner in last years final.

Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Brian Klug said: “We will just get on with it the best we can and it gives opportunities for other young lads to come through.

“I was not expecting to have either Danny, Billy or Owen for the Liverpool game as they have challenges elsewhere to meet.”

Liverpool overcame Cardiff in the last round and will have experienced Reserve players available for tonight including Jack Hobbs, a Portsmouth-born centre-half bought from Lincoln City, 17-year-old Ghanaian international Godwin Antwi, who signed from Real Zaragoza and Spanish midfielder Miki Roque.

The game kicks-off at 7pm at Anfield.
