Town Close on New Boss Appointment

Glenn Hoddle and Roy Keane are the current favourites with the bookmakers to replace Town manager Jim Magilton who was this morning sacked along with assistant John Gorman following Town's lack of progress this season.

Speaking to the Official Club Website, Clegg, appointed himself only yesterday said: "I'm not going to talk timeframes but we are closing in on an appointment.

"We are looking for someone with a proven track record who can deliver what everyone connected with the Football Club wants, promotion to the Premier League.

"If we can get someone in before the end of the season, that would have its benefits because he would get a look at the playing staff before the end of the season. That may happen, it may not happen."
