Discussions about the move had started at the beginning of the week with boss Joe Royle and Sheffield Wednesday alongside Kuqi's advisers in talks to come up with a deal that suited all parties, after nearly a week longs worth of talks, tonight the parties agreed on a move.

Kuqi will sign for the club initally on what will be a free transfer, however the agreement with Sheffield Wednesday is said to state that should Town be promoted whilst Shefki is at Portman Road, Wednesday would be due a small fee as part of the package.

Town fans will be delighted that the Finnish International star has choosen Town over neighbours Norwich who made a late bid for the Sheffield Wednesday striker in an attempt to sabotage Town's chances of signing him permenantley.

Confirming the move, Town Boss Joe Royle told the Official Club Website: "Shefki has done well for us since he arrived here and I am delighted that he has agreed to join the Club on a permanent deal,"
