ITFM understands that talks between former Charlton and Manchester City Left back, Ben Thatcher, are continuing.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are the latest club to be linked with Thatcher, who he recently had a trial with, however, it now seems Wolves have ended any of their interest in Thatcher.

Thatcher who is now a free agent after leaving Charlton Atheltic, is said to have impressed Jim Magilton during his trial with the Blues. He was set to be unveilled as an Ipswich player on Monday, but due to complications and Wolves' emergence in the saga, that was not the case.

There has been mixed responses from the Town fans. Some are pleased that we are going for the sort of player who likes to put a foot it, something they feel Town have long missed. While others don't want him anyway near this club, due to his infamous elbow against Portsmouth play maker Pedro Mendes.

Elsewhere former Ipswich target, Nicky Maynard, scored a first half hattrick on his debut for Bristol City against Royal Antwerp.
