The 22 year old Dubliner has played for Town just once in the last two years, but played six times for former boss Joe Royle whilst on loan at Oldham before being injured towards the end of the 2008/9 campaign.

Speaking to the Official Club Website, Supple who is out of contract at the end of June said: "I spoke to the manager and he has offered me a new contract and it's just a case of discussing a couple of things with the Club.

"I want to stay and I'm sure it will all be sorted out very soon but I'm not signing just to sit around as back up 'keeper.

"The manager has said that everyone will get a chance to show what they can do and it's an opportunity for me to impress him and press for a place in the team for the start of the season.

"There are players that he will not have seen play before and who have been out of the picture here who will be looking to stake a claim to play and I will be one of them.

"I get on really well with Wrighty and I was really pleased for him last season. He was playing well and ended up skippering the team but I want to put as much pressure as possible on him for his place next year."
