Supple Aiming to Displace Wright

22 year old Supple has appeared for Town just 10 times in the past three years, in no small part down to the return of Richard Wright to the club last season, having previously been backup to Neil Alexander.

The Irish product of Town's youth academy is out of contract at the end of the month, but has been offered a new one year contract by Town boss Roy Keane and is widely expected to sign in the coming days.

Speaking to Archant, Supple underlined his determination to displace current number one Wright: "I want to put as much pressure as possible on Richard. The manager has confirmed that every player will get a chance to show what they can do in pre-season.

"And this will be my opportunity to impress and press for a place in the team for the start of the season. I'm not signing just to sit around as back-up goalkeeper."
