Preston previously made a loan move for the midfielder last season, only for Town to turn the offer down, as they did not wish to loan the Struga born player to a rival club who was challenging for the play-off's.

At the time, Shumulikosk could not hide his anger: "Ipswich were supposed to accept a loan offer from Preston, but it wasn't allowed by the manager Magilton as he did not want me to go to a rival play-off team.

"I was angry and couldn't stand it any more. I wanted to go on loan to a team that had ambitions for promotion to the Premier League. My wish was Preston but Ipswich wanted me to go on loan to Watford or QPR."

The 28 year old joined Town in February 2008, but has been unable to secure a place in Town's first team and appeared just six times in the league after New Years Day, partly due to a fall-out with then Town boss Jim Magilton Under Roy Keane, Shumi came on as sub once in two games.
