The Finland international has averaged a goal every three games since joining Town from Sheffield Wednesday on a free transfer, and has paid tribute to his managers part in his goalscoring exploits.

"Joe Royle is the best manager I have had in my career. Whatever he says is right, because he has played a lot of games in his own career as a centre forward and he knows what he is talking about.

"We had a recent time when he said the attack was impotent and toothless, and that was a warning that we needed to focus harder on our jobs.

"When I first came to Ipswich I said football was a team game and as long as we won it didn't matter who scores. But if we don't score goals the first people who will be criticised are the strikers because that us why we are there."
