Rhodes scored 7 times in 14 games for the Bees before suffering a broken metatarsal in mid March which cut his loan spell short. Rhodes had also scored twice for fellow League Two club Rochdale in a 5 game loan spell which began in September.

Following Rhodes injury, fellow Portman Road striker Billy Clarke joined Brentford until the end of the season, scoring six goals in eight games to fire his temporary side into League One next season.

Speaking to the Official Website of the PFA, Rhodes said: "It was absolutely brilliant and I loved every minute of it.

"From the kit man through to the fans who came to watch us train and play all the way through to the players, manager, chief executive and chairman, everyone made me feel really welcome. It is a great club and I have gained so much from my time there."
