Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, the former Celta Vigo star said: "The three worked really well, especially in the first half. We scored and we had other chances. I did tire a little bit because I have not played in the first team for so long but this will have done me good.

"If I play on Saturday I will be even better for having played in this match. I'm pleased because I played my part in Shefki's goal and in general."

Counago also felt despite missing chances on Saturday, Town are still in with a good chance of promotion: "We had a good chance to score in the final minutes, but the important thing is we are still just two points behind Wigan.

"We did more to win the game but at least Wigan dropped two points. Going to Preston will be difficult for them and if we win our two games we will finish in the top two."

Pablo also had praise for Town's fans and their backing of him: "They are a fantastic crowd who gave the team wonderful support and have been there for me all the time. I can hardly find the words for me to describe them, they are unbelievable."
