One more signing before Friday?

The letter harbours the decision as to whether an angreement has been reached with the club's three main creditors to restructure the club's debt.

A successful renegotiation of the debt would allow Royle more funds than first thought to strengthen his squad. A proportion of that money has already been used on Gavin William's imminent transfer, with the fee now thought to be lower than the original reported £350,000.

However, should the bank confirm that the debt has been restructured, Royle should have enough in his transfer kitty to bring in another couple of loans or pay a small fee. He has already identified available targets and will hope to bring someone in, probably a striker, before Portsmouth visit on Saturday.

Former Portsmouth striker Ricardo Fuller is reported to be his top target and may be available on loan, with Burley looking to trim his large squad down and get rid of any discontneted players.

Other possible targets include the powerful Goeff Horsfield (West Brom), the unlikely capture of Robbie Fowler (Man City), Leon Knight (Brighton), Matt Jansen (Blackburn) and Jonahtan Johansson (Charlton).

On Tuesday Town signed former Sheffield Wednesday striker, Adam Proudlock, on a free transfer until the end of the season. The player had been on loan with Town since a successful trial period in September.
